A New Moon Wishing ritual can include lighting incense and a candle, and taking a moment to reflect on where you are in your life on the day of the new Moon. Then imagine where you’d love to be and write down your hopes and wishes in your journal. By aligning with the energies of each New Moon (knowing where this lands in your own natal birth chart helps but is not necessary) you can further enhance this wish casting process.
Every month note when the new moon is and the sign involved -so for example the new Moon in Capricorn (December/January) would be a time to set intentions around the areas of ambitions, career, focus for the year ahead and your status including the roles you play-e.g. Mother, wife, Sister, daughter etc and how you can be at your best. Then at the full Moon in Cancer which falls 14-16 days later you would create a Vision board or some sort of symbolic representation that brings into manifestation your hopes and wishes around the theme of Capricorn’s opposite sign (just like yin/yang ) which is Cancer (which rules home, family, nurturing. emotions, environment and healthy living/eating) that nourish your Soul and inner Child.

Farewell 2010 and Hello to 2011
One World -holding hands and supporting the circle of "ONENESS"
My what a year 2010 has been!
Astrologically
Personally.
Destined to be a huge turning point for many.
A breakdown or a breakthrough!
So much has happened in 12 short months that I feel quite breathless to find the words to convey the full impact on my own life, the lives of those I know and the planet in general.
It was mega and that is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg in my humble opinion.
2010 accelerated changes that were set in motion circa 2008 and it’s full steam ahead into 2011 (more later)
Firstly 2010 was about balancing shadow energies, bringing out our worst and our best.
Ouch!!
It was the year of getting into right relationships and connecting with those that we have most to learn from!
As we end it there is much healing energy to soothe what may have been a painful time for many. Even for those who pretend they were unaffected by it all you were party to the personal suffering even if you turned the other way!
Believe me we have all lived through some of the most impactful energies this planet has seen (may ever see) in a very short intense period.
With the last hooray symbolised by the magnificent lunar eclipse on the winter solstice we really are well set for new horizons and dreams being brought to fruition in double quick speed.
Just as well you may gasp!
So much is on the line for so many that we really are in “all or nothing” territory now. And it is terra incognito as we are breaching through the dark night of the collective Soul-so eloquently described by Andrew Harvey in his book The hope~ A guide for Sacred Activists!
Everywhere the words “sacred” and “feminine” seem to show up. Almost like the necessity to equate one with the other and realise that the Divine feminine is indeed moving into the Sacred space carved by the
collective annihilation of everything that was the antithesis.
We are merging and bringing through the reality that will support this emergence and put paid to any separatist notions. The end of the plutocratic society and superiority/inferiority are within a hairsbreadth and we will soon all breathe together and truly get that our every thought,word and action is heard by each and everyone of us-so there can be no more secrets or exclusions.
Bring it on!
The beautiful truth to live and honour your Soul’s purpose and that of each being who is on this planet can be activated consciously! And it can and will occur in such a way we will be awestruck by the immense depth and beauty of each Soul .
So get ready to be upstanding and stare in awe as we know each other for the very first time-truly naked and authentic.
That’s my message from my Soul to yours for 2011.

Everything in the visible world has its birth in the invisible world
New Year New YOU!
Welcome to 2011.
This year starts with a bang!
The solar eclipse in the sign of Capricorn (related to “I respond) heralds a brand new beginning point in the form and structure of your life, Soul’s purpose and manifesting more of your Divine Destiny in this reality!
Capricorn is the sign of the goat climbing to the mountain top and being ready for the next initiation.It is often called “the doorway into Spirit” and is the sign associated with fulfilment of ambitions. In a spiritual sense this means aligning the lower Self with the Higher Self and allowing your Soul’s purpose to manifest through the integration of your dual nature- i.e. becoming more balanced such that your ONENESS and at -one-ment with the higher Christ Self manifests. Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn and whilst it is in the sign of Libra you are being nudged to move into right relationships with yourself, those you meet and with your higher purpose. The Shift that has been occurring can be further cemented with this eclipse and with the beautiful Jupiter (expansion) and Uranus( sudden revolutionary change) conjunction in the sign of Pisces (Spirituality and healing) we can all seed new plans and make a brand new start aligned with this new Moon on 4th January at 09.04 hrs GMT.
It is a partial solar eclipse and it’s in an earth sign. So again this can be eventful in bringing anything to light that was submerged.The light of consciousness is partially blocked which can force Uranian events (unexpected shocks and surprises) to manifest that can propel your life into new territory and open up whatever may have been hidden from view thus far! This can mean really looking deeply at your life and asking yourself
a) Are you living the life you know you were born to live? If not why not?
b) Do you feel the structures and forms in your life support you?
c) How aware are you of your role in the Universe that only YOU have been born to fulfil?
d) Does your reality reflect your spiritual beliefs- e.g Are you living in abundance consciousness and trust or coming from lack or fear?
e)Do you know/trust that you can manifest everything you require to live your life purpose ?
As you ask yourself these deeper questions new insights can flow in energising and illuminating all that has been hidden from view!
Ok back to the planetary update now!
Mercury has now turned direct and will trigger the recent lunar eclipse on the 12th January so this is a tremendously potent time for integrating all that occurred over the last quarter of 2010!
Jupiter moves into Aries from the 22nd January until the 4th June for it’s second sojourn and will bring new knowledge, expansion and greater form to the seeds you have planted with the eclipse. It can also re-activate and enhance any plans/venture you created in the summer of 2010 (when it was in Aries) thus encouraging you to go forth with courage and carve your niche out that will endure over time.
Aries is all about pioneering Spirit and taking action to manifest your dreams and the next part of your Sacred purpose.
The full Moon on the 19th January is in the water sign of Cancer and this can be a nurturing time of gentle integration that will light up how fulfilled and supported you feel on the home and domestic fronts. With a lovely aspect to expansive Jupiter you can feel suitably soothed but if not then wny not enjoy a spot of quiet contemplation or a full body massage to encourage greater inner peace and tranquillity!
Saturn turns retrograde in the partnership sign of Libra on the 26th January and we can all take a step backwards to evaluate just how far this cycle of “right relationships” is impacting and look more deeply at shadow energies that still require balancing in 2011!

Manifest a new life, a new YOU!
There may be times when nothing seems to be happening on the outside, but you are going through much change on the inside to prepare for what you are asking for. Keep trusting your ability to draw to you what you want while you are waiting for it to to come.Everything that is happening to you is preparing you to have it and helping you change your vibration to match the vibration of abundance when it arrives*
So here we are -a new year with all the wonderful possibilities that await you in 2011 just waiting to be birthed! And we are now in the sign of Capricorn of course which is all about realising ambitions through drive, perseverance and right actions! The ruler is Saturn which is in the relationship sign of Libra. Librans thrive through being in partnership whether that is with their Soul mate or the deep connection they seek within with their own Soul. Often the former is sought only to discover that it is the deeper connection you truly yearn for when your Soul and personality link harmoniously~ The inner marriage! Then your Soul mate is a reflection of you- a mirror to your growth,evolution and intimacy.
Libra is ruled by Venus in orthodox astrology and it’s just moved into the fire sign of Sagittarius. It’s going to be there all of January so you can expect more energy and zest around your love life whilst its there bringing a new slant to the energies that have been around us recently.
In fact it makes a beautiful aspect to Saturn on the 23rd/24th January so this can herald new beginnings in your relationships and can also improve finances quite dramatically if you get what is on offer and see it as the gift it is!
If an existing relationship needs a boost, this is the time to put the extra effort forth. Venus tends to soothe and soften whatever it contacts. In this case, it can bring greater peace and harmony allowing new structures to emerge thereafter. If you’re single or looking for a mate then you may be asked to live your best life with integrity thus attracting Mr/Ms Right who reflects this back for you!
Venus is the planet that rules love,romance, beauty, values and self worth and these are the qualities you need to address in a much more inspiring way this month!
The main point here is that with the perceived lack of abundance in the economy and the continual necessity to see this from a new perspective we are all being called to re-evaluate relationships. Your partners’s values and limiting beliefs impact upon your hopes and dreams much more than most people ever care to admit.
I see so many clients who are in relationships that often highlight the need to address why they allow their partner to live out their limiting beliefs or who crush their dreams!
An example here- one client is running a business which is going okay but could be doing a LOT better. Meantime their partner has a JOB and they are expected to go and make up for the perceived shortfall-in other words the whole premise of freedom that is part of the wonder of running your own business is being diminished as one partner is being restricted. This has the knock on effect of resentment and a battle ensues-often unconsciously about who is worthier-the one who wants to expand the business and free them both or the one who has the JOB and earns more money right now- the actual money that is supposedly supporting the dream!! And that’s where it often remains-because the limiting belief is that someone “needs” to have a JOB or fear and insecurity may rip the relationship apart. The other way to address it is to look at your own limiting beliefs and birth a NEW YOU in 2011 that will end this conflict forever and improve what you know could be a very supportive relationship! The JOB may not be the issue but it may be an indicator of the amount of money you can bring into the house as a working couple!
I recommend reflecting on that and then taking action this month if you want to transform this or any similar scenario.
You can free yourself from such outmoded beliefs and give yourself the gift of New Year New YOU in 2011 and bring your partner along for the ride if they’re ready and willing to trust in YOU! And if you’re a singleton then you may just attract your Soul mate as an added bonus!

What’s important to you right now?
What in your relationship is mirroring your financial hang-ups?
Why is that the case and what are you willing to do to tranform it?
What do you each bring to the relationship in the way of talents, gifts and opportunities?
How much do you value these in yourself/each other right now?
As I’ve mentioned before Libra is the sign that rules right human relationships and endeavours to see both sides of any story. It walks the middle path and is a born Justice of the peace when in it’s light capacity but can stir energies up to allow the ensuing disharmony to re-assemble into greater feelings of rightness and oneness between all of the people involved, once the conflicts are resolved! Saturn is spending its 2 years transit of this sign urging everyone to get into right relationships with self and others!
The impact of this on the planet cannot be underestimated! Saturn is exalted** in this sign and it’s with good reason!
So before Saturn turns retrograde on the 26th January give yourself the boost of knowing you are willing and ready to birth a NEW YOU in 2011. No-one else can do it for you-and that’s the truth.

Exploring the “inner you”
Astrology chart
One of my favourite topics is astrology and how we can discover more about who we truly are through it. Often people think one reading is sufficient to tell them all they need to know! To believe that is irreverent to this great art and source of guidence. Having studied it for nearly 23 years I still find new areas to learn from in my own chart and those I advise.
Your astrology chart is THE quintessential treasure map of YOU!
Exploring the “inner You”
It can tell you much more than years of psychotherapy,NLP,coaching and hypnosis together might ever fully uncover. To utilise the knowledge of astrology alongside these mediums is like a laser focussing on exactly what is going on NOW and what you need to pay attention to or work with and transform. It is a symbolic representation of your psyche and Soul.
The houses in your chart are like the playground -so knowing your time of birth is essential to capture what planets (your Archetypes) are playing their roles out in. One house that is much maligned and mis-understood even by astrologers is the 12th House. This is the most hidden part of your chart and relates to your unconscious processes. I like to think of it as the house of “grace” as it is where we have least control and yet can experience the miraculous through surrender to a higher power. If you have planets in your 12th house and find that you are very sensitive and often feel misunderstood then an exploration of them may help here.
First of all some keywords for the 12th house are:
Spirituality,achilees heel,burdens we carry,family and/or collective karma,shame,guilt,past lives,hidden resources,escapism,dreams, repressions, all or nothing behaviour,illness,psychosomatic illnesses, hospitals and prison,what is hidden from society,scapegoats,seclusion,victim/martyr tendencies,secret fantasies,unfinished business, genius, inspiration,volunteer work,service, gifts and talents, sacrifices,secrets, mixed messages,purpose and mission, confinement, gremlin,solitude,transcendence,spiritual devotion and selfless love, Saints ,secret enemies, Self defeating behaviours, Service to the “whole”.
These are but a very few-but you get the idea. It is often associated with people who do work in the fields of care (hospitals and prisons) or who are incarcerated due to “bad behaviours” -sometimes for their own good and sometimes to protect society from their complex and harmful outbursts.
So we see the wide spectrum from Joan of Arc (Neptune in her 12th house) to Adolf Hitler (Uranus) who have planets in the 12th house!
As you can see we need to look at each planet that resides there to gauge how it may be acting out its role.
With Joan of Arc who eventually died for a cause and her belief in God we see Neptune. Neptune is all about transcending the trials of earthly life and being aligned with Divine love. It is also the natural ruler of the 12th house -so it is at “home” there. The 12th house is very much associated with having a “calling” and for those who have planets there it is almost certainly something they will have to pursue or they will never feel “whole”. It is the house that brings us to wholeness and without an examination and integration of our Archetypes in it we may walk around feeling we are ” missing” something or someone.
Mainly we need to connect to source to fill the “hole” or else we will end up in a place of abandonment and feel rejected by society-often scapegoated or deemed to be a troublemaker (another role that can be played out) Van Gogh and Oscar Wilde had planets in their 12th house-and they both exhibited many of the aforementioned traits.
It is often the house of genius but there is a thin line between genius and madness.
Many people with full or complex 12 th houses ended up in ashrams (Nuns,monks,Priest etc) in the past or had mental illnesses that caused suicidal feelings as they just “didn’t fit in” to society; their sensitivity often led them to breaking point and surrendering to a greater power (light) or the taking of their own life (shadow) Nowadays it can still be problematic but you’re more likely to see these people being of service through Selfless service or affiliated to much of the “new age” practices as the collective shadow is brought to the surface.
Adolf Hitler had Uranus here which is all about sudden revolutionary change and independent thought that is connected with collective ideology. He was a mouthpiece for what was in the “air” in the 1930′s – so although he is seen to be “evil” by many he simply led the way in expressing the ideology of naziism-which is why it is too easy to blame one person for all the ills of any time! We are connected. We are all ONE and until we each examine our shadows and understand what is truly happening at these deep levels then we are often just projecting the blame and seeing it mirrored through another or society.
Astrology is one such way to ” know thyself ” more fully and work with your energies. The mediums of transformation may still be the same with or without this knowledge (i.e. journalling,dream analysis,NLP, and coaching etc ) but with the knowledge of your birthchart you will get in touch with these energies and start connecting at a level that may never have been so easily available without it before.
Plus transformation requires awareness and astrology is the “creme de la creme” in bringing awareness and shining a light on your blind spots. Along with my work in helping clients with their Sacred contracts the opportunity for self discovery and recovery of “parts” of yourself are greatly enhanced transforming your fate (feeling powerless) to your destiny (empowerment)!

The Love Based Thought System
To love and be loved is all that truly matters on this Earth.
What I see in others is a reflection of my own state of mind.
I lack nothing to be happy and whole right now
My safety lies in my defencelessness, because love needs no defence.
Acceptance is what brings me peace of mind.
My self worth is not based upon my performance.
Love is unconditional.
Forgiveness, with no exception, ensures peace.
Only the present is real. The past is over and the future is not here yet.
In order for me to change my experience, I must first change my thoughts.
Mistakes call for correction and learning, not judgement and punishment.
I am responsible for the world I see, and I choose the feelings that I experience.
To give is to receive. For me to gain, nobody can lose.
I am complete right now.
My self-esteem comes from loving and accepting myself as I am today, and then sharing love and acceptance with others.
I can’t change others, but I can change how I perceive others.
My self-esteem is not based upon pleasing others.
I am complete, full of love and worthwhile this very instant.
Healing my life begins in my mind.
If I desire change, I must first look to my own mind.
The past is past. The future is in the future.
The present is present.
Opening my heart to love makes my life full and happy.
Through sharing who I am with others, I come to know who I am. I lack nothing today.

Walking your talk!
Here are the six essential keys to a more aware and spiritually developed life.
1. Control of thoughts. We must master our thoughts, particularly our train of thought. Just consider the way thoughts whirl about in our souls, how they flit like will o’-the-wisps; one impression arises here, another there, and each changes our thinking. It is not true that we govern our thoughts; our thoughts govern us completely. We must reach the point where, at a given time in the day, we can become so absorbed in a thought that no other thought can enter and disturb our soul. In this way, we hold the reins of thought life for awhile.
2. Control of our actions. Here it is necessary, occasionally at least, to act in ways that are not precipitated by anything external. Whatever is initiated by our place in life, our profession, or our situation does not lead more deeply into higher life. Higher life depends upon such intimate matters as one’s resolve to do something that springs completely from one’s own initiative–even if it is something absolutely insignificant. No other actions contribute anything to the higher life.
3. Equanimity. People fluctuate back and forth between joy and sorrow. Thus we allow ourselves to be rocked on the waves of life. We must reach equanimity and steadiness. One must become steadfast and even-tempered.
4. Understand every being. Nothing expresses more beautifully what it means to understand every being than the legend passed down to us by a Persian story. Jesus was crossing a field with his disciples, when they encountered the horrible-looking decaying corpse of a dog. Jesus stopped and looked at it with admiration, saying, “What beautiful teeth this animal has!” Within the ugly, Jesus found an element of beauty. Try always to approach what is wonderful in every phenomenon of outer reality. You will see that everything contains an aspect that can be affirmed.
5. Complete openness. Most people judge new things according to the old things they already know. But we must not confront a new communication immediately with our own opinion. We must instead always remain alert for the possibility of learning something new. We must develop the ability to listen, because it enables us to encounter matters with the greatest possible openness.
6. Inner harmony. We receive this after we have developed the first five keys. Those who have the other qualities are also inwardly harmonious.

Birth of the true
The title comes from a song by one of my favourite bands. I was listening to the “Greatest hits” by Aztek Camera led by the inimitable Roddy Frame when I had the urge to write -something! I first heard of the band in the early 1980′s when I was outside sunbathing and heard a neighbour blasting them from an upstairs window. Funny how things”start” in life.
A bit like love affairs,new friendships and career changes. Suddenly we are aware of “something” new that we immediately are drawn to.
As Liz Greene describes in her classic book The Astrology of fate; this is how it started-but what is this? She describes how Dr Gerard Adler met a Mrs Adler -same name!- at a party who over a short period of time introduced him to the ideas of Carl Jung and synchronicity. Chance, fate, nurturing an inner preparedness for change and direction. The fate of two people was deeply intertwined in a complex pattern because of what in ordinary language, one can only call a chance meeting. Here we discern a “meaningful coincidence”- the same name and then a mutual interest that changes one’s life. He went on to write “Reflections on chance ,fate and synchronicity” and by virtue of this meeting with Mrs Adler met and worked with Carl Jung.
My own synchronicity occurred just as my thought of writing my blog alerted me to listen to the song that was playing and something told me -it was meaningful to the moment. So I paid attention and here is the blog piece based on the song of the same name!
At the time I first heard of Aztek Camera they were pretty much unknown and coming from East Kilbride myself perhaps that neighbour and I were their first fans. Viral marketing at its most simplistic level! I certainly enjoyed what I heard that day and went out and bought their debut album, High Land, Hard Rain, released in April 1983.
The album was successful, gathering significant critical acclaim for its well crafted,multi layered pop
Birth of the true
The band went on to release a total of six albums, although most of these were essentially written and played by Frame pretty quickly. My favourite songs are from that album and Knife-which is where this one comes from! Thus my love affair with Aztek Camera began and their songs gave my own life some meaning and purpose over the years!
Partly that is due to the lyrics which always seemed to resonate with a lot of my own thoughts and feelings even in my teenage years-values like truth,hope,optimism and joie de vivre along with the realisation that life can be pretty rubbish for many people.
The title then is all about birthing the true and that in itself means letting go of illusions,pretence,fears and anything that masks what we stand for. When we truly birth ourselves in the truth or what is true for us we have to let go and trust that what we meet will reflect our new state. Whilst we live in anything less than that we risk being drawn into power games, secret agendas and a life that will ultimately fall short of something very valuable-integrity and love.
Of course it can take many years for us to truly want to live from the core of our being and understand what truth means for each of us. There may be no absolute truth but there certainly is a field that we enter that is all about purity of word,thought and action-that for me is the truth and from there we live a life that will support the best of everything this World can offer. Not especially easy however when we look around and listen to the news of propaganda,deceit,illusion and greed .
I guess even as a teenager I just knew that one day I would get to this space and want to know and live my truth,my life purpose and be free of others lies and projections and my own!

Truth is not contingent upon one’s belief in it,altered by the words one chooses to describe it or wounded if neglected. It is simply TRUTH!

- Be your own Counsellor by Sheila Dainow. This is a fabulous book with great exercises including-understand your life script. You will transform your life using this little gem-go at your own pace and dip in and out. Journaling by Moonlight
Through a series of serendipitous events I am over the moon to announce my forthcoming guest on my new blog talk radio show. Those of you who follow my blog or are clients will know I am an avid Astrologer who uses the planetary cycles as part of my daily life. There is rarely a day goes by that I don’t consult my ephemeris (this is the oracle that has the planetary placements in it that records this on a daily basis as they move forward each day). I know that the planets reflect what is going on in my Universe and how that is impacting my own life and those I meet. Often we learn so much from seeing what these Divine messages are each day as the planetary placements synchronise with external and internal events.

For me it’s a bit like being a cosmic guide and understanding how and why things are playing out as they do. There is nothing quite like astrology in understanding our unique role in the Universe-as above -so below! Neptune-your inner most light
As Neptune moves into her natural domain of Pisces I thought it would be worthwhile to explore the key states to move you from confusion to clarity to enlightenment & how to recognise where you spend your day mostly at the moment!
Neptune ruler of Pisces
Neptune is the planet of illusion and dreams and tends to spiritualise our lives in a big way. It is associated with divine discontent and puts us in touch with our urge for perfection, the sublime and enlightenment. It often causes us to feel disillusioned as a means of leading us out of our self-imposed prison of illusion and thus putting us in touch with our own inspiration and spirituality. It is often prominent at times of peak experiences or when we fall in love and helps us to be re-united with Source and unconditional love for all life. It encourages us to merge with something greater than ourselves and dissolves boundaries in our lives. It is associated with art, music and all forms of creative self-expression, which help us to be in the moment and express love. It spends 14 years in each sign of the zodiac and takes 165 years to complete one revolution of our chart. It moved into the sign of Pisces on April 4th and will have its first brief spell here giving us all a taster of what is to come in 2012! It retrogrades back into Aquarius for the last time in our lifetime from August 2011 until February 2012-having moved there in 1997.
Let’s look at these 11 key states to enlightenment
1; This is the foggy state when you feel half awake/half asleep. You may space out easily in this stage or feel like you need a strong caffeinated drink to wake you up as you easily forget names, dates and lose track of time. Not usually a pleasant state though some Pisceans/Neptunian types live here for long periods of time and manage ok! Confusion reigns here and you may feel like there is no clear direction for long spells when you are undergoing a transformation by Neptune. So this becomes a familiar state especially when Neptune is close to a personal planet in your chart for the first time. You can feel like someone has drugged you.Late Aquarians and very early Pisceans may have been feeling this recently! The upside is that confusion is a very high state and allows you to explore the unknown and attract options you may have ignored or refused to see before!
2; The Intersection State~You may still feel half asleep in this state but there is more clarity of perception . It is similar to the pre and post sleep state where you may get insights or dream images just as you fall asleep (Hypnogogic) or wake up (hypnopompic) It is the intersection of the 2 Worlds-inner and outer.
3; The Fantasy State. This is the dreamy state where you enjoy little day dreams and may lose awareness of yourself for periods. It can be a very receptive state which you don’t always control-just enjoying what is flowing through you and allowing it to occur and unfold. You may at other times direct it towards a fantasy or visualisation but this is likely to be occurring with minimal effort consciously.
4;The Dream state- In this state you have no self awareness or consciouness as you are asleep. Themes which occur repeatedly in your dreams may be linked to Neptune and your 12th house as higher forms of guidance.
5; The Meditative state-deep relaxation or Alpha state where awareness is focussed inwards,observing the inner processes. Perception is clear here.
6; The Psychic State- You may or may not be focussed on your internal experiences but are highly receptive to images and impressions. You easily tune into guidance here.
7; This highly focussed inner state is where you know you are being guided by your higher Self -you may receive images and be clairaudient/claircognisant in this state -so be advised to record insights and guidance for future reference.
8;The Artificial State-This state is often induced by drugs or alcohol. Negative energy and repressed material can be released in this state such as when taking LSD or when very drunk and this can translate into hallucinations or cause you to feel out of control (mental illness is linked into this state)
9; The Creative Inspiration state. An outwardly focussed state . Awareness is heightened and visionary states can occur here. A trance like state of transformation and change.
10; The “Opening your heart state” in which the pains and sensitivities of the past may wash over you. You may feel considerable love & compassion for others here.You begin to transcend your own desires and love from the Divine Source within you.
11; Enlightenment State The 11th and final state is where mystical experiences or cosmic consciousness take over and your boundaries completely drop as your ego merges with Spirit and you receive an influx of healing and rejuvenating cosmic energy.
Enlightenment~This is the state referred to as "enlightenment" as we see we are the Universe and have complete knowing of everything. This rarely lasts for more than a few hours and is usually called a peak experience that can catapult you into a new Spiritual consciousness -eg NDE and Kundalini awakening etc.
You may find that you fluctuate in 1 or 2 states more frequently than others mentioned here. We all have the ability to access each and every state and we may experience the first 9 states on a regular basis if we are on a Spiritual path. States 10 and 11 occur less frequently and only last for brief periods of time usually. You can tap into Neptune which is a watery planet to help you swim through these states and tune into where you’re at on this scale to assist you to move up a level.
Each state has a gift for you. For example being in the fog can help you learn new ways of navigating rather than simply depending on your vision -your senses are heightened,you slow down and smell the roses and hear the crickets-so it is with these psychic states. You may tune into parts of yourself that you never knew existed under a prominent Neptune transit and emerge with a new perspective as you dissolve the old you into a wiser and more mature YOU. I remember hearing a Spiritual teacher say that understanding is the booby prize.
On my own journey I’ve often heard people speak in whispers if it’s bad news or perhaps they’re just being polite;
Oh yes we understand we say -without need for further explanation.
I understand you don’t need,want, like me here-we know we are excluded.
I understand he/she’s not going to make it-we can’t bear to be told/hear the horrible truth in more detail.
I understand that life treated you badly( but that’s not my problem or is it?)- we see our pain projected through someone else’s life.
It’s a bit of a euphemism really isn’t it for “oh you poor thing-you’ve been a victim of (fill in the blank)” and often “we” just want to get away from that as quickly as possible for fear of contagion! It’s human nature-I’ve felt it,I’ve done it-everyone if they’re truthful has. We don’t want to suffer-we want to be happy and free from pain. (As we mature we want to alleviate pain {both our own and others}but that often comes later through experiences) There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be happy and pain free by the way -it’s natural and desirable and yet………
Then many years later I did a workshop called Defy Gravity with Caroline Myss and she called understanding a very high Grace. In fact the Grace of understanding is partnered with the shadow passion of entitlement. On learning this it took me into a different zone. Are we here to understand and forgive and by doing so transcend so much of what society views as victim hood I mused. I truly appreciate that at the deepest Soul level there are no “victims” and we are all learning different Soul lessons. Perhaps through truly understanding another person we put ourselves in their shoes and rather than shy away from the “thing” we fear we begin to understand with love and compassion that this Soul needed to learn this particular lesson.
A few years before all this, when I was pretty unwell in my early thirties I came to forgive and understand why some of my life and my purpose had been the way it had. When I eventually “got” my own deep Soul lesson, I actually felt such a closeness to the very person I had blamed for so long that the healing of it was exquisite. I knew we had shared something very precious and that I had been blessed in a way, to come to know this while we were both still alive.It didn’t happen overnight, mind -only through this grace of understanding and a willingness to know the truth and feel this person’s shame, pain and great courage did I receive my own healing (through grace) and transform my own life and health in a very significant manner.
When I reflect it seems a lot of my life has centred around this Grace of understanding. Does that make me a Victim as I”ve heard it whispered occasionally? (Haven’t we all!) Well if consciously lived suffering redeems others then I would hope no more than I needed and that I’ve got that now!
Having worked as a Nurse in my early twenties I met lots of parents who had children with horrible birth defects and life limiting conditions like cystic fibrosis and other rare genetically inherited stuff. Some of these conditions were so rare that these parents had no-one to turn to-no support group. They were unique in this-for some people it was too much to bear and their marriages broke down or they even gave the children up for adoption or into care. Now I’m not proclaiming that I did anything of great note as a children’s Nurse (other than what I had signed up for in my own Sacred contract) but what I do believe I learned in working with many “sick” children and their families was the understanding that we often feel very alone with this kind of suffering. There is a division that occurs and many happy normal parents with happy normal kids complain about the usual petty problems but they rarely if ever realise just how very fortunate they are in comparison. And how can they? It’s difficult to understand what we’ve never experienced isn’t it? And so much of life is one big comparison game of who is the best -the smartest,the most beautiful,the kindest,the richest etc. Again it’s unconscious and until we “get” that it will never serve us we create more pain and inadequacy for ourselves and others. As Caroline Myss sympathised that day at the workshop with one childless woman- some of us just wish we had that problem (i.e. a child to worry about/care for) instead of the lack or loss associated with never having any or being bereaved!
In Spiral dynamics understanding is pretty low down the evolutionary scale -about level 2 I believe. You let go of victim mentality by understanding yourself and move to level 3-woohoo -so that you can learn about manipulation apparently and how to win instead of lose. Ultimately though there will always be victims in this model at this level because not a day goes by, that something happens that couldn’t be construed as losing -so we are all jostling to be Victors rather than victims of our journey in life. But if someone is winning at the expense of someone else or a bad system then we’re back to being Victims of an ego run culture. Of course winning our own battles is an individual matter My mountain to climb may look very different from yours but we may still have to work the same muscles every day to scale it!
St John of the Cross who wrote all about the dark night of the Soul had to forgive and ultimately understand the Divine’s hand in his life purpose to do so. As Caroline Myss describes his lowest moments when he was beaten daily for no good reason but still had to forgive his abusers and find the inner strength to do so, we get an understanding of why he is a shining light for us to emulate. We get some indication of just how much understanding he needed to have, to come to this place of Divine union. So saint hood ain’t easy and yet we are all potential Saints!
As the Rolling stones song sympathy for the Devil goes;
Every cop is a criminal and every sinner a saint…..
Finally,let me make a suggestion to all those who aren’t so well versed on shadow work and those who prefer to walk the other way in case they are infected with the “bad news/energy” We are all starting with the man/woman in the mirror and we are all ultimately “One organism” that is healing itself”! You,me, every one of us!
Until we truly understand and speak about these types of issues with love and compassion we are really saying we aren’t yet ready to own our own shadow and face what may be our own darkest hour! Conversely it may represent our greatest gift too!
As Teresa of Avila states-the dark Night of the Soul is the greatest gift that God bestows on a person.
Why?
Because only a great Soul with stamina could even begin to understand it without causing mayhem or inflicting violence of some kind on others. Watch the news and you get that-many people in great pain just lash out either verbally or physically because they don’t (yet) understand themselves or their life’s journey. That is something that unfolds through Divine Grace and love.
As Gandhi says, with greater understanding of others comes greater opportunities for peace and harmony. Until we truly see it is our Brother/Sister who is excluded or in dire straits or in pain and we are part of that projection, our understanding is little more than paying lip service to the ego and the collective unconscious that just loves to be better than others.
I rest my case. I no longer believe it’s the booby prize -I do believe it’s essential for us all to reflect on & evolve!
Understand a little more and judge a little less until we know all the facts (and that probably means most of us!)
Let’s pray the serenity prayer and know it heals all who are in pain including ourselves.

When Betty, a good friend of my father’s, asked me at a family wedding, “So what are you doing these days?” I completely froze. I had no clue what to say. I was six months pregnant with my second child and had been out of the workforce for two years. I had chosen, for better or worse, to be a stay-at-home mom.
Fortunately for me, Betty sensed my discomfort and chose to rephrase her question, “What would you like to be doing?” Much to my surprise, bells went off in my head and I started rattling off a “to do” list.
After that encounter, it became clear to me that my identity had always been tied into my career. Without it, I didn’t know who I was. I was a mother, but who was I really?
Society puts a lot of pressure on a woman to do what’s right for the family. This pressure often comes from well-intentioned individuals who don’t fully understand that in order for a mother to be at her best, she needs to fulfill her own needs and desires. And the best way to do this is to live with authenticity.
That is why I became a life purpose coach for women who are challenged with the loss of personal identity. It is also why I am hosting a very special FREE online event discussing this very subject…

What a beautiful Royal wedding to watch on TV!
I do
I expect you saw the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton like a few million others round the globe.
It reminded me of my own wedding day and how we take vows and never fully know what they will ask of us. On this momentous day lives change for ever and once married, life definitely changes us too.
For better for worse,
for richer for poorer
in sickness and in health
‘Til death do us part.
Nowadays marriage doesn’t always end in actual “death” but there is the necessity to honour marriage vows when made, whether (or not) we choose (or are guided) to leave the marriage through divorce later on- a different kind of ending!
Today was a day to celebrate marriage and all that it means-Divine Love,honouring one another,hopes of a bright future and the bringing together of families, as well as all those viewing it on TV.
I liked how the Minister said we are never fully complete without others in our life including for many a Soul mate. Life can be difficult when you’re single and whether that’s by choice or circumstances I believe most of us flourish when we are in a relationship that gives support, love and sharing to both parties. We are then much more capable of giving our gift to this World!
Saying “I do” is a natural choice for many but it is one of the biggest decisions anyone will ever make in a lifetime.
Love is Divine power, so choose wisely and then stay true to your vows. If you aren’t sure if it’s the right time or the right partner-then wait until you are-you may save yourself (and others) much heartache. And if you know it’s the right partner and the right time then celebrate and count your blessings. You are much more likely to prosper, and sharing your joy will be a delight-it is a great gift for everyone. The power of choice is the greatest power we have and who you choose to marry is most definitely a date with Destiny!
Thus saying “I do” should never be taken lightly by anyone!
Saturn (the cosmic school teacher) which is exalted in the relationships sign of Libra, is all about being in right relationship with others along with balance & harmony between lovers. It’s interesting to note that it was also in Libra when Prince Charles and Lady Diana married in July 1981-(it was in the opposite sign of Aries when Diana was killed in the car accident in 1997-the low point of that cycle!) and here we are full circle back on a high with it back in the sign of Libra in 2011!
Although all relationships offer growth this is especially true of marriage and intimate unions. Synastry is the branch of astrology that deals with compatibility. It compares the 2 charts and just as our energies ignite in the presence of those we have greatest chemistry with, so synastry maps the symbolic connection and how this is likely to play out. Are you trusting your vibes?
Here’s some examples from my own life on this subject that may resonate with yours. In May 2009 on the flight home from Chicago to London I kept getting images and thoughts of planes crashing. I did my best to think alternative thoughts and focused on peace but it was a very difficult journey for me. On arrival at London Heathrow, the next day after a sleepless night and with some white knuckles I discovered that a plane* had disappeared around the same time I was having these flashes and uncomfortable feelings . It had left Brazil enroute for France and was later discovered to have crashed over the Atlantic ocean with no survivors. Another time I dreamt about a plane crashing into a lake only to wake up,turn on the radio and hear the news that a plane had indeed crashed into a lagoon- again with no survivors. Some people would say these are coincidences but I know better now. Around the exact time of the Japanese Earthquake I started to get the worst migraine I have ever had and was unwell on and off for the next 2 weeks with a flu like virus- to such an extent that I rarely left the house. I felt as though some “force” was keeping me in rest mode and that I came out “in sympathy” with the disaster and all the feelings swirling around the collective.
Listen to your vibes
Often it isn’t quite so easy to notice “good vibes” but I bet when you look at some of the fortunate circumstances in your life they are due to you listening to them too. That’s how I ended up meeting Caroline Myss, going to Chicago,doing Sacred contracts,working with Bernadette Doyle, joining Damsels in Success and working with book promotion coach Lynn Seraphin. I also “decided” last year that I would love to work with Visionary mentor Jean Houston and hey presto with minimal effort the perfect opportunity showed up in the shape of Living your Supreme Destiny mentored by Jean in the perfect format for me. I believe these opportunities occurred because I trusted my vibes and followed them. All of these occurrences were intuitive hits that led me to life changing events/people who have enhanced my life and are assisting me to fulfil my Sacred purpose more easily.
Now you may or may not have had such extreme experiences as mine but I bet this list will help raise your awareness that you are more tuned in than even you realise!
Here’s some indicators that you really really are;
- You feel more sensitive than you admit to and are aware when something isn’t quite right in your life
- You know who is calling before you answer the phone.
- You have flashes or pictures of events and later experience deja vu or discover they were premonitions
- You just know something “good” is going to happen and it does
- You just know something “bad” is going to happen and it does
- You read the energy of a room and are aware of underlying tensions.
- You feel excluded even though no-one says “anything” and you’re probably not paranoid at all
- You feel safe and confident when you know that the energy is supportive and you give your best with great results
- You no longer have to ask the same questions of clients as your inner knowing is already firing on all cylinders
- Rapport with others is either very easy or like hitting your head off a brick wall
That’s some of my early indicators or vibes that tell me I am indeed psychic. We all have our own unique way of tuning into energies and by doing so can take actions that may transform things before it’s too late to act. i.e. before a negative thought or feeling manifests into reality. Trust your vibes,listen to your inner voice and take action even if others “label” you as crazy. It may avert tragedy. On the other hand it can also show you the way to some good “fortune” and open doors you never thought possible before.
Either way it is your intuition that can save your life,lead you to your destiny and attract your highest good into your life -so pay attention and trust your vibes too!

What an amazing month June is going to be! I am so excited and looking at my ephemeris I’m delighted to be able to fill you in on the celestial details here!
It's all about eclipses this month!
We have not one, but two eclipses this month. And the action starts on the 1st of June with a partial Solar Eclipse in the communication sign of Gemini. Eclipses in air signs often bring up issues around communication, ideology, interactive processes and how much we live in our heads to the fore! They free up energy and allow new expressions of who you are becoming to be birthed. Of course this has been an ongoing theme as we head towards the amazing energies prophecised to be around us in 2012!
As mentioned in previous posts Eclipses were once feared and seen as portents of doom often signifying negative events . This was partly due to superstitious thought and the ignorance of how they occurred! Nowadays they can be seen as portals to new opportunities and the clearing out of what is blocking this from arising! A solar eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are conjunct in a sign and the Moon is conjunct its own node. So they are very often triggered by other planets and the moon’s nodes for some time either side of the eclipses. The effects of eclipses can vary from a few weeks right up to 8 months! Both Solar and lunar eclipses involve a blockage of the light transmitted by the Sun or the Moon to the Earth, and may influence us by actually blocking the light of consciousness and thus force us to deal more deeply than usual with subconscious as well as collective forces.
The Moon’s nodes trigger this one in February 2012.
Before that though there is much work and shifts that will and can occur. Often spontaneous shifts and revelations are linked to eclipses as we suddenly see the light and that is why they are often termed as ” Uranian” in astrological terms- opening pandoras box and letting loose new energies. So if anything has been in the way of the new conditions emerging then the eclipse clears it out! Think fast de-cluttering of the thought processes especially as this one makes a great trine to stationary Saturn in Libra! This trine means there’s a very nice stabilising effect making it much easier to ground the new conditiions with certainty and ease!
The Solar Eclipse will be triggered by Mercury on the 7th/8th June and by Venus on the 18th/19th June-so expect these dates to be important times of shaking things up further too! Mars will also get in on the action later on in July (6th/7th July!)
The Lunar eclipse is such a powerful one that I expect it to be a very impactful period between the 15th June til the 29th June. It is a total lunar eclipse and lands in the fiery sign of Sagittarius. Again Venus and Mercury trigger it. Being a lunar elipse we can expect some manifesting of these new conditions and things really coming to a head with the understanding of the bigger picture of your own life and the Divine plan-think major planetary shifts of consciousness.Flashes of insight and unexpected opportunities can enter our lives and awaken latent possibilities-transforming them into probabilities and miraculous experiences/events when fully grasped and acted upon!!
Sagittarius is all about truth telling,freedom, expanding consciousness and goals being fulfilled. Perhaps some long awaited hopes and dreams can come to fruition for you at last. This is linked into events that occurred around the end of April-so more enlightening and expansive energies may allow whatever was blocked then to shift and manifest thereafter. Mars also gets in on the action towards the end of July ( 24th-27th July)
With the cosmic school teacher (Saturn) turning direct on the 13th June in the relationship sign of harmony and balance; Libra, then right relationships can start to emerge more fully. The grand picture of the Universe is lighting up the way for each piece of the new puzzle ( yip that’s you and I) to fall into its perfect alignment-and a very pretty picture it will be too! We are required to be in right relationship to really shift this planet into the right direction -of abundance, joy, love and peace for all its inhabitants! Jupiter -the planet of expansion and good fortune enters earthy Taurus which will support the grounding of these higher energies and facilitate a new understanding of money and values. Expect greater stability too for what IS working by allow the laying of new foundations. This building of more supportive structures will be aligned with incoming 5th dimensional energies rather than the more usual 3rd dimensional that have been operating for these last few years!

Navigating the shadow
Love the good and the bad and the ugly-when you can do this with an open heart and a non judgemental mind then you will be truly beautiful and the God or Goddess that is within will shine forth like a diamond
Manifesting a new life, a new YOU!
It seems to me that many,many people right now are going deeper into their psyche than they’ve ever been and getting positive results by doing so!
By facing deep seated fears we become aware of latent abilities,talents,inner strengths and gifts that may have been trapped deep in the recesses of our mind and Soul-in our shadow!
In astrological terms the shadow is related to the planet Pluto and the sign of Scorpio. Pluto is the deity that is invisible and lives in the underworld. Similar to the myth of Persephone often it can feel like you have been abducted when Pluto makes significant aspects to your birth chart and you may feel forced to face the demons and darkness that have been avoided until this time.
Pluto is the smallest of all the planets but paradoxically seen as the most powerful in astrological terms. It rules the sign of Scorpio in western astrology and Pisces in esoteric astrology. It is linked to the collective unconscious and power issues that are impersonal or appear bigger than our ego self!

Discovered in the early 1930′s it was synchronised with the rise of fascism and Nazi idealism. The dreadful atrocities that occurred and became obvious to humanity’s consciousness during the second world war were about this realisation. We all have light and shadow within us and the dark shadow can cause unacceptable behaviours. As we are all connected to one another it is clear that as we heal darkness within ourselves we redeem and liberate humanity too. Some people carry not only personal energies but also transpersonal patterns and this can be seen as a karmic burden or as a gift! At the Soul level you may have agreed to carry these for those who aren’t able to acknowledge it (yet!) or as a learning process to love unconditionally and not harm others in any way regardless of how they may treat you-so it’s related to both your karma and your dharma!
We are all one and what is in one is in the whole is the realisation that what I do affects you and what you do affects me in the ripple effect of a globally connected World-Unity consciousness
These energies are usually kept in check but the annihilation of 6 million jews is an example of how projected shadow energies can cause great evil and suffering if no-one speaks up! The necessity to own and work with your own personal shadow is a big part of personal growth. The evolution and also the transformation of humanity which is happening NOW at an ever greater rate means we all need to check out and navigate our shadow!
As you do this and gain the courage to change, not everyone will be delighted by your new empowerment. Your wish to be seen and heard in a new way may be met by ridicule or questioning especially if you have kept much of these energies hidden from view (very plutonic) . The battle that ensues is a battle of your own psyche-the dark and the light-what you deem acceptable and familiar and what has been pushed down and told to “shut up” and keep quiet for the sake of survival-group or tribes want what is best for them not for any one individual usually. So this is usually about ego survival and status quo. By learning to transcend and transform you can integrate your shadow-both the light and dark!!
As you face new challenges and break out of limiting circumstances some people may question the “rightness” and the acceptability of the new you as you begin to emerge.
As Ali Brown put it on a recent call ;Whenever you want to step into a greater version of you it often comes with a new found demand for increased courage and faith and moving through some type of fear

Pluto is transitting through the sign of Capricorn at this time which is all about structure,the status Quo and authority. Capricorn rules propriety and traditional beliefs and institutions. Think Monarchy, Organisations like the NHS, Government and to some extent banks. All these areas are undergoing significant changes and the recent strikes by the public services in the UK are one of the structures-pensions-under threat due to societal shifts and organisations recognising that things have to change. i.e. the old ways aren’t working and the new ways threaten the security of the workers.The conflict that occurs is plutonic. It can bring out the animal nature in each person and the sudden realisation “they’re not so nice” or that the people we thought would never strike have met their inner demon and are willing to sit up , take notice and even strike! I’m not taking sides here by the way, I’m only pointing it out!
Have you ever noticed that people who enjoy getting their own way often seem very nice and are used to this-their status quo and the norm for them. The Prime Minister of the UK for example is well educated and in a position of authority to supposedly tell each of us how to live our lives according to his party’s ideals! Everyone who voted for this and still affirms this projection is part of the status quo. But hey no-one (whether a government Minister or a civilian) is perfect and all sweetness and light all of the time-NO-ONE that is still alive and navigating life on Earth at this time anyway! Suddenly if that is threatened or disallowed they erupt and we experience their shadow. Occasionally tragedy ensues like Dunblane so I am not for one minute saying that we can be blase about this subject either obviously! For most though it is simply an indication of what needs to be looked at and healed.
For many who have deep pain or who have suffered due to staying quiet for too long there is an even greater necessity to claim back the energy and seize more positive opportunities for growth! When you choose to put your head above the parapet don’t be surprised if you meet the down side. Sometimes you may “lose” friends or even have to let go of a partner if they cannot resonate with the “new you”. Feeling ostracised from a group or in your family for not following the tribal agreements that were made at the unconscious level can be unpleasant. Suddenly you can be left feeling you”re not being “nice” anymore by those who don’t want to honour the person you’ve become. With love and understanding on both sides however new agreements can be reached that can honour both parties. Thus we undergo transformation of consciousness-the death of the old and rebirth into the new YOU!
My advice is to stick to your guns and honour yourself-as difficult or lonely as this can be at times. What’s the alternative-to be inauthentic and play out your shadow for others approval and never truly know yourself!
The upside is that the new groups,partner, friends and opportunities will show up and suddenly the inner work and unconditional love for yourself will meet that in the external World. Nature abhors a vacuum. Pluto which means “riches” is the Lord of the Underworld and was originally called Hades.It rules power,fate and to some extent the necessity to face up to and transform your karmic lot into the gift and blessing it can be! Thus you become empowered as you navigate your shadow. Pluto in your birthchart can show where you have the tendency to give your power away-be it to God, your job, your partner or your beliefs around money or happiness. Wherever it is transitting can show what area you are working on right now and how to navigate this more easily with grace and understanding. Always by excavating your shadow you will meet these issues and learn more about how powerful you truly are!

Remember things don’t change-we change and then we meet the new in our external circumstances. Since so many of us are going through rapid shifts right now the reality we are collectively in looks chaotic and uncertain-is it really any wonder then that the old structures are breaking down?

Making a date with your Destiny!
Have you ever just known that something is going to happen? You get a hunch,a flash of intuition or inner knowing and the excitement that arises with it makes you feel high! It’s a bit like falling in love when it happens!
It’s the falling in love that’s making me high-it’s the being in love that makes me cry cry cry*
I suppose that’s what happened when I first heard about astrology and knew it was linked to my own path and purpose. I loved to read horoscopes as a young girl and was so fascinated that my destiny might well be “written in the stars.” One of my favourite authors-Catherine Cookson-was a great inspiration and as I watched one of her stories being serialised on TV recently “The Round Tower” I realised just how much her model of the World had impacted mine. She wrote with such a flair, tapping into that heightened sense of destiny and the story unfolded almost like magic as you knew it would. Interwoven connections between people and their moral dilemmas; unrequited love,ill-timed love affairs and illegitimate children merged with a backdrop of poverty,religion,snobbery and various types of prejudice. The obstacles which centred around these themes were often dramatically swept aside by the central characters-who had aspirations well above their station! The hero/heroine made good and triumphed in spite of the restrictions!
Underpinning it all she brought the truth to the surface in each book-the unwritten truth of the characters and the life’s that many were doomed to experience until that moment when the date with Destiny became a reality- some might call it the spark of genius,inspirational knowing or a sense of calling when you wake up to who you truly are inside. Then all the obstacles in the world hold no match for the desire to follow and fulfil it! This is the hero’s journey!
It all seemed to me back then, that the story of our lives are written long before they will unfold and predestination has always held a strong pull for me. The other area that held an equally important part of my attention was romantic love and relationships. I didn’t go in for Mills and Boons -too sugary-but I did believe that we each had a Soul mate. Someone that could make life worth living and even if there was no actual sharing of that life in an every day setting-(far too mundane and dull to my romantic young mind) there was a bond that was unbreakable. Somehow throughout all my childhood, teenage imaginings,secret desires and longings I felt sure it would happen. And of course it did indeed magically manifest in my reality-long before I had ever heard of the law of attraction!! Not one personal development book had I read at that time!
Carl Jung would say it was inevitable-synchronicity to meet that which I dwelt upon and of course perception IS projection. So even if my picture of this as a young girl was hazy, when it happened it was crystal clear! I couldn’t have written the story any better if I’d tried

Age 22 was my wake up call. I was at the beginnning of the unravelling of my truth -the REAL story of my life,purpose and destiny became apparent to me much more consciously-everything was illuminated in a flash-a mystical experience-unexpectedly,unsought and yet it took me to the heights of ecstasy! It just “happened”-my hero’s journey began with a bang!! The depths I would experience at the opposite end of that spectrum were unknown to me at this point unseen-still hidden! All I knew was this experience of joy was something I would die for and the voice inside me that had spoken was one I would listen to and follow -it was the most authentic and real experience and gave me a great sense of inner peace and calm. I had no-one to speak to about it back then-no gurus or therapists. The plentiful mind,body Spirit books that you can buy by the bucketload now were non- existent in 1988.
In dealing with it I had to turn inwards to the fields of astrology,psychology,spirituality and the healing arts to bring healing and wholeness-to myself ,my Spirit and to my shadow side. The key to my life was astrology and the symbols and codes hidden in my chart which would guide me out of the depths of despair many many times as I studied them and learned more about what the serious study of astrology can tell you-my mystery school was animated!
In watching The King’s Speech recently I was bowled over by how much “they” seemed to know about their “destiny” even before it unfolded. Of course the film was made with the sure knowledge of how it did unfold but the hints and obstacles that were like giant markers stood out for me and simply emphasise why I am writing this blog NOW!
That’s why I do what I do now. I work with clients using Soul centred astrology,Sacred contracts and spiritual growth tools to mentor them in really understanding and embodying how immensely powerful they are and to believe in these intuitions,flashes of insights and mystical occurrences that have occurred in their life-and will continue to point them towards their destiny!
The key is to pay attention,join the dots and understand the BIGGER picture of your life by following those hunches and inspirations. They occur to make you follow them-you are the creator,the actor and the narrator of your own drama !
Nothing happens by accident,we are meant to be in certain places and meet key people . It happens on purpose and to show you the next step of the path that is unfolding within you.
It took me a long time to really get that- in the muscle and has been part of my Soul’s journey. Fear and disbelief that this was all really happening to ME made me question it. I also met people who poured scorn or raised eyebrows when I began to have the courage to tell “my truth”. I shut up for fear of their reactions and questioned myself. Perhaps I had got it wrong? It didn’t stop the insights,the moments of clarity or the deep aha’s. It only made it more painful when I tried to shape my model of the world to what seemed acceptable to others -to play their game and pray that somehow I could still have a nice normal life-work in my day job,get re-married,have kids and forget what had occurred-doesn’t happen like that though!! You will note I am divorced, have no children and gave up my day job 18 months ago! My life feels much more aligned with my true destiny now and more fulfilling than it ever was when I tried to fit in and be “normal”
I’ve given up on the “normal” bit now. Whatever “normal” is anyway!!
The moment I had my own mystical experience, on July 13th 1988 I was “shown” the path that I’ve followed ever since and it was for me the most amazing wake up call.
I didn’t understand it at the time. In fact I didn’t breath a word of it to anyone for fear “they” would lock me up and claim I was insane. I buried it, kept it secret, tried to find my own answers,went over it in my mind a million times and yet avoided believing in it fully as it just seemed too incredible to explain to anyone-never mind work out what it meant and what to do about it! I mean I had no proof-who would believe me or believe in me!
In fact until I had a mini nervous breakdown in August 2009 I questioned a lot of this. I ended up off sick from my “day job” and in fear of losing my sanity.
Then I was guided to read this;
These Spirital states have a particular effect on memory.The force,intensity and meaning of what is experienced in the depths of our being ensure they are never forgotten. In essence they are our remembrance of Him (God). They are imprinted,almost burnt on the Soul permanently,and seem to be accessible very quickly if we turn our attention to His unforgettable imprint on our Soul.
These Divine locutions+ leave us so convinced of their truth that,although their fulfilment sometimes seems utterly impossible and we vacillate and doubt about them,there still remains in the Soul a certainty of their verity which cannot be destroyed. Perhaps everything may seem to mitigate against what was heard and years pass by,yet the Spirit never loses its belief that God will make use of means unknown to men for their purpose,and that,finally what was foretold must surely happen;as indeed it does.** Teresa of Avila
Back then I took the path of least resistance, settled for less, listened to my head instead of my heart too often, became unwell due to my own denial and “blamed” God for the conundrum I faced! I avoided facing my own truth as one might when a hot potato is handed to them! And yet I also simultaneously followed my guidance felt a deep sense of Divine grace and gratitude and began searching for the answers. I recognised that being ill may be part of my dharma and worked on healing myself! I didn’t understand but I was secretly determined to discover more-to reveal the truth of what had occurred,what it meant and why!
My date with my destiny is still on of course and one day like Susan Boyle who dreamed a dream I know my own dream will indeed unfold fully with Divine right timing! I no longer doubt it-it is happening-in fact these last 3 years have really accelerated the sense of destiny for me and the highs increase while the lows are much less! I enjoy every single moment knowing and trusting that between now and when my vision does fully manifest I can relax and enjoy the journey. I know the revelations will continue to appear and the people who are part of it will show up.The love that has made it all possible is inside of me and grows stronger every day!

As ye sow so shall ye reap!
The month of September looks to be eventful and the new Moon in the sign of Virgo sets us all on course for it. On course for what you may ask. Well to live in greater alignment with the details of our life that create it. Rather than objecting or arguing with the minutiae perhaps it’s time to “see” that it is indeed forcing us to focus on what each of us is harvesting! Virgo is the sign of “God in the details” the harvest of those seeds we have planted and gives an awareness of where we may need to detox or re-align to get our bodies and minds into greater unification. Aches and pains only reflect back to us what we are avoiding. Deeper health issues usually require adjustments to be made and our body either serves us or we need to learn to serve it better! The Universal energies around us this month are all about harvesting what we have sown over the last several years.
Virgo is the sign of harvest
The new Moon which occurs overnight on the 29th August is all about new beginnings; sowing new seeds presenting an excellent opportunity to formulate goals regarding “all things Virgo”. Virgo traits relate to being analytical, intelligent, reserved, critical, helpful, conscientious — consider ways to incorporate these traits into your personality. The New Moon in Virgo is a good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Virgin. This includes building your power of healthy, constructive discrimination; rolling up your sleeves and getting down to some serious work; beginning a new project that requires attention to details; making lists, actively ticking off completed activities, and taking pride in your “little” accomplishments; starting a health regime, researching nutrition and vitamins, and paying attention in general to your health, diet and nutrition.
Clean up negative behavioural patterns and begin putting your day to day affairs into a better order! This can help to offset some of the chaotic energies surrounding us all! By becoming more mindful and constructive you can begin to see and handle the “little” details of your day-to-day life in an organized, step-by-step fashion so that you are freed of much of the clutter that keeps you unaware of the Divine guidance and direction that is always around us.
Purification and refinement are the order of the day and as we refine our nature we get closer to who and what we truly are -the Divine Self shines forth and you will reap more of what is aligned with your Divine purpose!

A kind of magic-take 2!
In November 2010 I joined Damsels in Success and officially became a member of this amazing group of ladies that were brought together by the lovely Lucie Bradbury!
10 months ago I wrote the first post entitled This is a kind of magic and today I’m feeling full of the kind of love,magic and miracles which make life so fulfilling-the icing on the cake!!
With 7 days and counting I am launching my own group of Damsels in success in Glasgow-Check it out here
It’s been an amazing 10 months and my life and business have continued to expand and prosper in fantastic proportions!
Since I joined I’ve been working with clients all over the World (yes that’s right from Melbourne in Australia to Los Angeles and everything in between via skype) who want to cast their Sacred contract and activate their life purpose in form too!

I’ve worked with another AMAZING mentor who is an expert in life purpose Jean Houston, attracted VIP clients who want to do my higher value specialised programmes, been to London for a photo-shoot with the heart -shot photographer Christina Morassi, sailed through Venice in a gondola,met Gerard Butler (of PS I love you fame ) at a charity football match and enjoyed a cruise on the Thames with Dan Bradbury’s platinum master mind group and the list goes on and on of amazing moments-in fact living my dreams!
Contrast this with where I was just over 2 years ago!
Working 9-5 in a less than fulfilling nursing job doing medicals and listening to my work mates grumbling whilst trying unsuccessfully to sell my house in a housing market that was stuck in the recession!
So what changed all this?
I took a long hard look at my life on 31st December 2008 and came up with this verdict!
- I knew I wasn’t living my life purpose or highest potential-or anything close!
- I knew I was going to “die” if something big didn’t change and soon! (My spirit was leaving my body!)
- I felt numb inside-safe in my routine,I had a job-no debt and was surviving the recession- but I was empty and unfulfilled-lonely and unsupported with no partner and only a handful of friends -none of whom really understood my sense of isolation- a spiritual crisis by any other name!
That night 31st December (hogmanay) I knew wanted to change my life and really connect with what I felt sure in my heart I was here to do. But how to do it? I had tried so many things and explored so many paths, had some success for sure and enough to keep me on the look out for the next step. However I felt that something big was needed to really shake my life up as it felt stuck! I had lost my Dad and my Grandfather in May/June 2008 so it had been a very emotional time for me.I knew there was much more to my life and my Soul’s purpose than what seemed to be my fate at that moment!
When I woke up on the 1st of January 2009 I had my Eureka moment (just as Saturn -the planet that helps us create new foundations transitted over my Soul’s purpose ruler Uranus in the 12th house of my astrology chart!)
.. And so to cut a very long story short one decision made on 1st January 2009 to Cast my Sacred contract began the activation of my own life purpose in form.
Of that I am now absolutely certain! I ended up going to Chicago to study Sacred Contracts with Caroline Myss, spent an amazing 3 days in Belfast in May with Bernadette Doyle that blew my mindset wide open and this all led me to setting up my present business. I left my old career well behind, sold my house freeing me from that particularly horrible treadmill and reached for my greater destiny! Then by attracting new mentors in the shape of Visionary Jean Houston and Bernadette Doyle to me I was able to join LEAP -a transformational business group and connect with other evolutionaries who know they are here to make a significant impact as we all move towards December 2012 and beyond!!
And what is your Sacred Contract?
An agreement you have made with the Divine prior to your birth to experience certain key events, relationships, challenges and opportunities that will script your personal life plan and enable you to fulfill your mission and Sacred purpose in this lifetime. This life plan is your Sacred Contract! You have been given a support team of 12 archetypes that will be your teachers as you play this out in reality. These archetypes as identified by Carl Jung are Universal patterns of power and can be seen as your life essence and contain the talents and attributes that make you uniquely YOU!
The aim of connecting with your Sacred contract is to: move past the contract your ego would like you to have to the contract your Soul actually agreed to. To really connect and activate this contract requires 2 questions
Where am I going?
Who will go with me?
An understanding of the bigger picture and knowing yourself will help you to respond appropriately and align with your contract allowing everything you require to enable it to unfold just as it should. The Divine ultimately is asking for your total trust and surrender to what you agreed to when in spirit form. Remember you agreed to this life plan and its all there waiting for you. 
My life virtually changed overnight and it felt like a new energy was pumping through my life attracting everything that I have required and amazing new insights and opportunities that weren’t even visible to me prior to this! Plus the actual contract continues to assist me in making good decisions and seizing new opportunities that I recognise as being exactly “right” for me! No more wasting time or money on distractions or unfulfilling courses!
Damsels in Success has been part of this phenomenal shift!

Virtual interview with Lynn Serafinn

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Lynn when I got to ask her around the subject of Why do we need a new paradigm for marketing NOW? I hope you enjoy it.
Gill Potter- What are the key influences that brought you to write your new book The 7 Graces of Marketing?
Lynn Serafinn: Originally, Gill, I had intended to write the book as a response to the fact that so many nice people I knew—mainly in creative and holistic professions—hated marketing. I wondered why this should be so, so I started observing the way people did marketing in my business networks. What I noticed at the time was that most people tended to use a lot of “fear” triggers, to motivate people into quite sales. As I knew how chronic fear and anxiety created many long-term negative effects on our health and wellbeing, it suddenly made sense to me why certain types of people—who were highly sensitive and altruistic—had an aversion to modern marketing. So, my original intention was to provide them with a handbook that showed them why they hated marketing, and how they could do it differently, in such a way that was congruent with their personality, values and outlook.
However, as I got deeper into the subject matter of the book, I realised the negative impact of marketing was much more serious and universal than I had ever suspected. I started seeing a much bigger picture of marketing, wherein it was negatively impacting our health, our economy and our natural environment on a massive scale. Then, I knew this book simply HAD to be written, as an eye-opener to consumers and business owners alike, so we can begin to start a dialogue about how we can begin to shift our approach to marketing so it serves humanity and the planet, rather than threatens it.
Gill Potter: Why now? Why is this the most important time for this book? What do you hope to achieve from its publication? Who are you looking to influence most?
Lynn Serafinn: Why now? Well, from a personal perspective, it’s because once I started researching the subject (it took me two years to research and write this book), the topic was SCREAMING at me so loudly, I simply had to publish it NOW. But from a societal perspective, I know now is absolutely THE time for this book to be released to the world. Our global economic “crises” (although I don’t view them to be crises, but rather part of our natural economic evolution), as evidenced by the current recession, corporate and bank failures, the “occupy” movement, etc., are all signals that we are being called to redesign our economy. I explain in the book that capitalism was a great idea when it started, but we have to remember that modern capitalism (and marketing) began at the dawn of mass production. Once you have an economy that can produce FAR more than we can economically or environmentally consume sustainably, you’ve got problems. In the book, I talk a lot about the environmental impact of our overconsumption, which is largely the result of marketing. If we wait any longer to begin to make some sort of changes, we are going to find ourselves in even a more difficult mess to clean up in the next generation. I’m a grandmother; I don’t want my grandson to inherit an Earth that is toxic, destitute and full of suffering. Our natural state is to have abundant, self-sustaining societies; I believe we can bring ourselves back to that state if we start to work together.
What I want to achieve from this book, is that business owners and consumers start an open dialogue for how we can begin to heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell. I hope to influence both business owners (large and small) with this book, as well as consumers. Consumers do not realise how powerful they are, especially in this era of social media. Consumers can begin to change the world of marketing, but refusing to respond to negative marketing messages (the “Deadly Sins” of which I speak in the book). Ultimately, my wish is that every business in the world—especially the biggest multi-national corporations—will take on the “7 Graces” as their mission statement, and assume true social responsibility for humanity and the planet.
Gill Potter: How do you see Scarcity in marketing being removed when it is often one of the key deciders in making people buy? Marketers always tell us that what is in surplus is not so highly valued, so I am interested to know how this works in the new paradigm.
Lynn Serafinn: What is important for people to realise, Gill, is that nearly all forms of marketing are based upon the manipulation of our biological response to Scarcity. I discuss this in great detail in the chapter on Scarcity in the book. We humans are actually “hard-wired” at a genetic level to respond to the idea of Scarcity. Now, what marketers do to manipulate that response is 1) create false needs and 2) create false shortages. Without first creating the need (or desire), the “false shortages” have no impact.
In the book, I illustrate how so many of our modern industries created “needs” simply through marketing. An example is the cigarette industry. Prior to mass production of cigarettes, and modern marketing campaigns that “told” people why they wanted cigarettes, there was no “need” in society for them. Hence, there was no such thing as tobacco addiction until the introduction of marketing.
Now, try to imagine how marketing creates desire and THEN tells us we cannot HAVE the thing we desire. This is done through many different means. One strategy is the “limited time offer/limited edition,” etc. But the biggest manipulation of Scarcity in marketing is through the idea of “obsolescence” (something I discuss in great detail in the book). Obsolescence is used to create systematic, predictable “dissatisfaction” in the public, so they will consume at a faster rate than they would normally do. Example are the technological industries—computers, mobile phones, software, video games, etc—which deliberately create feelings of dissatisfaction over “obsolete” versions of their products, so we will spend on new products.
All of these are examples of Scarcity. And, yes, Gill—Scarcity works in marketing. At least on the surface it does. When you examine it more deeply, at a holistic level, you will see that Scarcity in marketing actually creates economic imbalances in the form of widespread debt, as well as massive environmental imbalances, in the form of e-waste and many other hazards.
The bottom line is this: Scarcity always creates Scarcity. It might make the short-term sale, but in the long-term it is detrimental to our entire socio-ecosystem. That is why it’s one of the “7 Deadly Sins” in the book.
The only way to true, sustainable prosperity is through the “Grace” of Abundance. I hope your readers will check out my book to find out more about Abundance, and the other “7 Graces” of marketing.

The life purpose myth!
Mercury turns retrograde on 24/11/11 and I see it as a call to examine the truth and release the myths we are all living through-and expose them for that!
Mercury is the messenger of the Gods (like Hermes or the trickster Archetype) -who brings us insights, and whilst retrograde it often means going back over old ground and becoming aware of the TRUTH (it’s transitting through fiery Sagittarius which is the sign of meaning,purpose and truth during this retrograde phase. The whole phase started on the 5th November and will complete by the 1st January 2012-quite interesting considering I have come to see 2012 as the year that truth and love WILL become a way of life on planet Earth! It is retrograde from 24th November until 14th December. We also have a solar eclipse in Sagittarius on the 25th November-similar themes which will illuminate the TRUTH and is linked to events that WILL occur in July 2012! More on eclipses here.
“I believe that too often we collude to keep things suppressed in the collective as well as individually due to 101 reasons. It really is becoming clear that suffering occurs more due to repression than any other reason!”
The Earth rules the sign of Sagittarius in the Esoteric system of astrology and planet Earth is a Non-sacred planet according to Errol Weiner. The higher Self to the Earth is the planet Venus (Sacred Planet) which is linked to the opposite sign of Gemini* and ruled by Mercury in the orthodox system.
The myth I’m exploring here is what I now call “The Life Purpose Myth” and how and why it exists!
I have been working with many clients recently-most of them actually do know their life purpose or have a sense/inklings of it (even before they signed up for any of my courses or programmes!)
Most of them are looking for the guidance and support to live it on a higher level or to release what fears or doubts they have about doing so and really being their True Self! More importantly they want to live their best life-their supreme destiny NOW and I guide them in that direction -as that has been my desire for as long as I can remember too-but also been my greatest fear if I’m perfectly honest!
So the myth that I often hear from those people I meet is this
I know my life purpose !
The assumption being that somehow they don’t need to explore it further or what they are doing is good enough for now!
What has become apparent to me is that I knew or at least had inklings of my life purpose from a very early age-the reasons I have studied a lot of the material from this genre seems to have been more around confirmation of it and to support my journey to fulfilling that innate potential and that is what I give to my clients -who do know it at an intrinsic level too. It’s in your DNA for goodness sake!
Another way to say this is that it’s a lot like breathing. You know how to breath because you are breathing-it’s natural and you wouldn’t know how to stop (without ending your life) or want to for that matter-would you?!!! However you may choose to do a course on breathing techniques or meditate on the breath to raise your awareness of it. You were always breathing though-weren’t you? Right -it’s the same analogy as life purpose -the more you explore it, and there are many methods and schools of learning,the more you come to know yourself and live it from a higher level-the Supreme Destiny level as Jean Houston calls it as opposed to the Schlock level-which is pretty crap!
For the sake of clarity and to prove my point around this myth here’s my “very brief biography on my life purpose” -which I can say hand on heart is the truth!
Between the ages of 5 and 10 I went to church with my parents-I asked my Mum if ladies could be ministers as I wanted to be one when I grew up. She said they could. At this time I was exposed to the work by Andrew Heron and William Barclay. I noticed a post recently by one of my friends and clients (on facebook) who cast her Sacred contract with me earlier this year.

I was fascinated by astrology as a child and wanted to understand the planets and more importantly how they impacted us and our life.
1986 – I bought a book called “Cast your own horoscope”
1987 -I saw a programme on TV about astrology and went to the Astrology Centre in St Stephen’s street Edinburgh. I bought my first computerised analysis of my birthchart based on my date,time and place of birth-it was very accurate and whetted my appetite for more!
1988 I moved to Glasgow after 12 months of depression (a dark night of the Soul experience) and joined the Astrology group at The Theosophical society Queen’s Crescent in May 1988
June 1988 I had a hepatitis B injection as part of my health screening and to protect me as a sick childrens’ nurse. It made me ill and I subsequently had ongoing health problems for years-due to it!
July 1988-I went to Corfu on holiday, fell in love with a guy from Belfast called Michael Shaw (holiday romance)and had a mystical experience when with and related to the aforementioned person -I also started receiving direct guidance from my Soul and guides after it (i.e. I heard voices telling me what to do-and no I wasn’t crazy!)
September 1988 I began classes in astrology at the TS with Elise Allan and have studied and worked with it EVER since!
September 1989 I got married to my boyfriend of 4 years (we had split up between March and Sept 1988) after he asked me and I had also had some dreams that guided me to do so.
September 1990 I went to Nepal with my husband and did V.S.O. there. I also bought and read numerous books on buddhism,astrology and spirituality that I would never have seen had I not went to such a mystical country. I was tikkared by a holy man in Durbar square.
1991-1992-I had health problems related to the aformentioned hep B along with various tropical diseases picked up whilst in Nepal and was subsequently diagnosed with M.E /CFS or possible M.S at the neurological Institute Southern General hospital Glasgow (aged 25) after having scans and being an in patient for a week.
August 1992 -I moved to Dundee and met Gary Kidgell who was studying Soul centred astrology -he taught me this system and gave me a great deal of fabulous information related to the mystery schools -I didn’t work at this time due to illness so for me I was in my mystery school exploring what my life and purpose was all about-please note I knew a lot by this time but it just wasn’t happening- according to me anyway!! Illness being part of ones Dharma wasn’t that attractive to me then! I started doing astrology readings for private clients who paid me and returned for more!
1998 -I had a kundalini awakening experience whilst having craniosacral therapy. I was also reading Caroline Myss’s book “Why people don’t heal and how they can” at the same time-synchronicity!
1999-2000 I did a LOT of healing work on myself and subsequently studied “The 7 Rays -Transforming with Divine Will ” by Orin/Sanaya Roman in May 2000. I met a healer in Feb 2000 and had Shen/kairos with significant shifts in my health and more insights as to why I had been ill and what had been repressed.
December 2000 I moved to Kilmarnock and we bought a 3 bed room semi detached house with 3 bathrooms – my health radically improved.
March 2001 I enrolled on a course called “The essential healing course” -a 12 month programme for healing. I studied NLP with Jonathan Clark and Touch for health with Stan Giles on the course . I decided I wanted to learn more and became a practitioner of NLP and Master practitioner of NLP in 2003.
2002 I read Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss
June 2003-I set up my own private practise and began seeing clients immediately. I left my husband of 14 years in December 2003 ( I always knew that would happen,when it would happen and it did!) Not a self fulfilling prophecy-just a rightness and the way it happened was very unexpected to me!
March 2004 I returned to my job as nurse as I felt unable to support myself financially and still had some ongoing health problems -so for me this was the best solution.
Between 2003 and 2008 I studied Hawaiian huna with Jonathan Clark ,led workshops for women (Inspiring women) and taught the 7 Rays course to a group of 20 students, continued with my private practise,met Caroline Myss and did her “fate to destiny” course at Findhorn (2006) & “Entering the Castle” course (2007) at Turnberry, got divorced, bought a new house on my own and generally lived my life.
May 2008-My Dad passed on
May/June 2008 – I went to a writing workshop in Edinburgh with Tom Evans run by Jackie Walker and started my book which I called-Sacred Paths Entwined-which is coming SOON!
June 2008-My Grandad passed on. (4 weeks after my Dad) My Mum and I went on holiday to Belfast to have a break from funerals!
September 2008 - I started a job doing medicals for Atos healthcare and subsequently found that I hated it!
January 2009 I decided to cast my Sacred contract and signed up for the course with Caroline Myss. I also left my job and created Your Sacred Purpose as a brand (after working with Bernadette Doyle who I met in Belfast May 2009 )-to bring together all of the above and share more fully with clients! I became a Certified Archetypal Consultant (with CMED-Caroline Myss Education) I cast my first Destiny wheel in October 2009 and watched Slumdog Millionnairre as part 3 of our course -brought to us by Jim Curtan one of the course tutors (who had worked as an agent for Hollywood actors Patrick Swayze and John Travolta in his previous “life”)
November 2010 I joined Damsels in success ( I have the damsel Archetype in the 10th house of my Sacred contract) and I knew it was my destiny to do so.
November 2010- July 2011 I worked with Jean Houston on Living your supreme destiny and life purpose courses as well as Katherine Woodward and Claire Zammit (on their Calling in the one course)
September 2011 I had been chosen to be the leader of Damsels in success in Glasgow and launched the Glasgow group -destiny again!
Ok so you get the picture I hope.
My life purpose and destiny have been gradually coming into manifestation on a moment to moment basis. Not just because I chose to do all of the above courses but because I believe we need to be aware consciously of who we are and why we are doing what we do -that’s what living Your Sacred purpose consciously is! That is the TRUTH!

Can We Heal Humanity and the Planet by Changing the Way We Sell?
In February 2008, at the start of the global economic recession, Lynn Serafinn’s television blew up. Six months after she made the decision not to replace it, as she watched everyone around her become more and more stressed about their finances, she suddenly realised she shared none of their anxieties. In fact, she realised her spending had gone down, and that her financial situation had actually improved. She began to wonder if there was a connection between this and the fact that she was no longer consuming a daily dose of the nightly news and television advertising.
It was then that Lynn started asking the question, “Is marketing making us ILL?” And by marketing, she included anything that was in the business of “selling ideas,” including politics and the nightly news.
This began a two-year journey for Lynn, as she researched and wrote her new book, The 7 Graces of Marketing: how to heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell. She wanted to discover the unspoken marketing mechanisms that were making our society, our economy and our environment ill. But most of all, she wanted to discover how we human beings could create a new paradigm for marketing, business and living that could heal both humanity and the planet.
And now, Lynn’s ground-breaking book The 7 Graces of Marketing is finally coming to Amazon and all major retailers on December 13th, 2011.
I met Lynn in the Autumn of 2010 through a serendipitous series of events. I joined one of her book promotion groups as I have been writing my own book Sacred Paths Entwined. I am so looking forward to reading this book when it comes out!

Lunar illumination

Christmas time approaches and shortly thereafter the much talked about 2012!! Wow!! How long have “we” been waiting for 2012 guys and gals!! I can’t really emphasise enough-A LONG TIME!
Ok so as we say goodbye to 2011 and I reflect on the year gone by I wanted to share some golden nuggets for this month and the much vaunted year ahead!
On Saturday 10th December we have a total lunar eclipse in the sign of Gemini at 18 degrees! So for those born around the 8-10th of March,June, September and December this eclipse is going to be impacting you at some new level. Total Lunar eclipse on10th December
Eclipses in air signs are all about our mental attitudes,how we communicate (or don’t) and where we need to release old thoughts and ideas! This WILL allow the new thoughts and ideas in and thus new manifestations occur. As this process was triggered back in September by the South node we have probably all experienced an accelerated learning process for the past 3 months!! Release and be done with it says this Eclipse. Free yourself from the old and prepare for new thoughts! This may mean clearing out books,cd’s tapes,info products and internet connections that no longer vibrate at the new higher level of consciousness for YOU!
Along with Mercury being retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius and making us aware of TRUTH we really are on the cusp of the new World order!
So how to prepare for an eclipse.
Well take some time out -allow yourself to be with your thoughts. Write down what you want to release-outdated beliefs,attitudes,fears,thoughts etc.
Have a ceremony and release these on or around the full Moon (it occurs at 14;37 GMT on the 10th December)
Once you’re complete write down what you are open to receiving in a journal or create a vision board to illuminate the connection between your mind and your power to manifest. Sing these out in front of the mirror and enjoy the sense of connection to your new thoughts. Create an affirmation for the NEW YOU!
Enjoy the feeling of connection with Earth by creating and eating some nourishing food (like stews and soups) -especially food that is grown under ground-root vegetables etc. It will also help to keep you grounded (as all eclipses can release blocked emotions and be harsh on our bodies!)
The eclipse will be also be activated to some extent on the following dates- 24th and 25th Dec, 30th Dec, 20th February,27th April ,1st June, 9th June and 24th July-so you can see just what an important shift it represents for us all.

A birthday week wish
It’s my birthday this week-on Thursday to be exact. I’ve had many nice birthdays and some really awful ones. I guess being unwell for most of my twenties and 30′s I always found it particularly stressful to have it in December. You see Winter and me never really went together that well. I love all the bright lights of Christmas and the parties but when you have no energy and it’s your birthday -it can be tough!
Thankfully now that I’m a fair bit older,wiser and healthier I do enjoy it again.
Happiness is
The worst birthday I had was in 2003 -I’d just broken up with my husband and I went to a workshop on making 2004 your best year yet. I remember feeling the life drain out of me as I realised it probably was going to be the worst year yet, not the best year. Still I’d made my bed and was now going to have to live out decisions and that’s how it turned out. A broken heart,rejection,loss of my home and partner all happened in 2004 and yes at that time I desperately wanted to have children. It was a very painful time as I came to learn more about me (my own shadow ) and how we can make decisions that aren’t for the best but happen when we’re crazy and madly in love!
So this year on my birthday I wish happiness for the person I was that made those tough decisions and did her best to get her life together-who went back to nursing ,who started working and paying bills, who faced the uncertainty of illness and aloneness,who never knew how it would work out,who cried for her life and her past and lost children and who wished life had been different.
I wish for joy and happiness in 2012 for all those who do have the courage to face their darkest night and survive it and who don’t always get it right but just do their best with what they do have to honour and love themselves!
Oh yes and in case you want to know what happened to my ex-he met someone very lovely and last I heard was happy with her and her children. You see sometimes we do the best for others without knowing it-and yes I am very happy for them both and glad he is happy-he deserved to be happy and so do you !

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Michelle when I got to ask her some questions on the subject of the Deadly D’s of Destiny. I hope you enjoy it.

Gill Potter: How do you view becoming Master of one’s destiny in the midst of the great changes going on in 2012?
Michelle Casto: The most important shift is ceasing to pursue things in the outer world and begin to pursue your inner world. We are shifting from living from our heads to living from our hearts and responding to our inner urges and inclinations.
With so many changes in the economy, we are being invited to take charge of our own financial and career destinies. This means discovering divine gifts that we did not even know we possessed, bringing them to the light, and creating a new life based on our True Purpose.
The changes and crisis that you see is actually an opportunity for you to dig deep, find the source of ALL within and begin anew, based upon a strong spiritual foundation of love and wisdom.
If you know there is more for you and it has your name on it, you have begun the process of awakening to your True Self. You are ready to shed the programs, limitations and out-dated programs that hold you back from living with more purpose and power. This is what it means to go on a hero’s journey….and when you become the Master of Your Destiny, then your life will be in alignment with the Divine, which is where you can more easily express your innate power and potential.
Gill Potter: What are the Deadly D’s of destiny? -can you expand upon these please
Michelle Casto: In the book, The Destiny Discovery, I discuss several Deadly D’s; each one detrimental to the fulfilment of your Destiny.
Let’s look at doubt, which is one of the most deadly of them all. Doubt is a traitor to your mind, because it fills you with insidious thoughts that you are not enough, or somehow NOT what you really are. Let’s say you doubt that you are a great teacher, when in reality you are. When you doubt yourself, it is difficult if not impossible, for Reality to reflect back anything other than that back to you, so you may find yourself getting close to something, only to have it slip through your fingers.
When we want something in life, say a new career, a soul mated relationship or more money, we attract and create it based on our level of FAITH and conviction. If we want something and believe that we can have it, it will come to us. If we want something and doubt that we can have it, it will continue to allude us. That is why it is important to guard the thoughts in your own mind and fill your consciousness with positive and affirming ideas and concepts, through
reading, reciting, and repetition.
Some of the other D’s are detours, dark nights, distractions, depletion, and denial. The way we combat these have specific remedies, but the main thing is to have FAITH and to KNOW that you deserve that which you desire.
Gill Potter: What 3 tips can you give us to overcome resistance when faced with obstacles and fears in life?
Michelle Casto: When we are faced with changes, challenges, and obstacles, we tend to “default” into a form of resistance, a pushing against the reality that IS. This does no good, and will only exhaust and frustrate you. What you have to learn to do is see resistance as a sign that there is something for you; maybe a lesson, opportunity or experience that you are meant to have that will further your Soul’s Journey. It certainly takes courage and vulnerability to do things outside of your comfort zone, so here are some tips:
The first tip I have to offer is to stop and breathe. When you feel resistance, often your “mental monsters” are running wild, throwing out fearful ideas and scary scenarios. When you stop, breathe, and relax, reminding yourself that in this moment, All is Well, this will help you to avoid going into a spiral of negativity. The faster you catch yourself, the better, by the way!
The second tip is to ask yourself empowering questions: What is right about this that I am not getting? What lesson or gift is there for me here? Asking a question puts you into a receptive mode where infinite possibilities live.
The third tip is to hire a mentor right away. Remember that every new level of life or business that you go to often requires a new and upgraded YOU. When you learn from the experience of a mentor, you shorten your learning curve and they will assist you in releasing the resistance and raising your resonance so you can achieve your goals, intentions and ultimate Destiny. All successful people know the secret of success is seeing the fear, doing it anyway, and receiving
guidance and support every step of the way.
Truly, as we head into a new year, and even more than that, a new era of higher consciousness, it’s time for all of us to let go of the resistance and choose Courage.

How’s your romance?
Fate and Soul are two names for the same principle ~ Novalis
How’s your romance after Christmas?
Yes, It’s one of those perennial themes we hear around Christmas and new year time especially! Your intimate relationships can be put sharply put in focus and the old chestnut comes up! ie. Are you with your Soul Mate and if so why is it not working? Or if not where are they? This is a great time for facing and healing old love wounds and discovering more about yourself and your partner or if you’re alone why that may be!
Saturn (the cosmic school teacher) moved into the relationship sign of Libra in July 2010 and it spends 2.5 years in each sign of the zodiac -so the last time it was in Libra was between 1981 and 1984!
When it returns to the sign it was in, at your birth it’s called The Saturn return. There have been many books written about this-(my favourite is Liz Greene’s Saturn -A new look at an old Devil and I am also a big fan of one of her other books Relating which was my very first serious purchase related to astrology in September 1988! She writes about the Saturn return quite extensively in it!
At age 29 ,the culmination of the first Saturn cycle, it is possible for the individual to face and free himself from painful feelings of inadequacy, spheres of over compensation,parental ties and values borrowed from the past. He can then begin a new 29 year cycle as a developing individual rather than as a product of his background,his family and his unconscious shadow. The year immediately preceding this i.e. 28-29 can be one of gradual break down and disintegration of all that may have seemed real and supportive.
Many people go through the greatest level at disillusionment at their Saturn return (I certainly did!) Another book I have found useful is Passages by Gail Sheehy (not an astrological book-this one looks at cycles)which marks this as a supremely important time in all our lives. I actually see the Saturn return as the time when we grow up-psychologically and really start to take responsibility for our choices consciously! This is often why so many rock stars don’t make it to 29 -usually due to self destruction or suicide (thinking of Amy Winehouse and Janis Joplin -there is even a club about this!) as they find it too painful to face their shadow and don’t have the coping mechanisms to get the other side of the Saturn return (fortunately most of us do of course!)
When the disciple knows Saturn as the God who offers opportunity and does not only feel him to be the deity who brings disaster,then he is on the path of discipleship in truth and in deed and not just theoretically

Libra rules relationships and values and Saturn in Libra stimulates the fear of darkness and of the destructive power of intense emotional involvements! Relationships,of course are just mirrors for what is going on within you and are great pointers for what needs to change in either your attitude, your capacity to love yourself more or the need to make decisions that will improve your love life!
Libra is all about being in right relationships with self and others, whether that be related to your business or personal matters. If you’re not being true to yourself then either your intimate relationships and/or your business may be affected-usually adversely! And this can also affect your children, wider family and community too if left unresolved. With Saturn in Libra from July 2010 until late 2012 we are all to some extent being forced to face this issue! If you happen to have your Saturn return which occurs at ages 28-30 years then you will also have to realise that much of the first 28 years of life is about karmic patterns and unconsciously following a path that may be more aligned with your ego than your Soul. That’s not to say that you’ve been off path-it’s just a subtle shift occurs at the Saturn return (and for some not so subtle) to make you aware of all that is no longer serving you to live your Soul’s purpose!
The price of truth and self discovery is that it all starts and ends with you! No-one else is to blame and the sooner you get that, the sooner you can move to where you need to be-allowing new opportunities and experiences to flow. Plus if the relationship has run its course, then you might just attract your Soul mate or someone who is a much better mirror for you! It’s all about allowing!
That is a balancing act of course and so there is always a degree of re-assessment as you (and your partner or prospective partner) change. Often this means compromise and if not then it may be time to leave and find someone who is the right fit. Never an easy decision- I know as I’ve been there and got that particular T-shirt -however you usually know when its run its course.

And I chose Destiny because as you can see that is what 2012 is all about – living your Destiny and making your wildest dreams come true!!
In December 2008- just 3 years ago-I was maybe where you are now?!
Working 9-5 in a less than fulfilling nursing job doing medicals and listening to my work mates grumbling whilst trying unsuccessfully to sell my house in a housing market that was stuck in the recession!
I took a long hard look at my life in December 2008 and came up with this verdict!
- I knew I wasn’t living my life purpose or highest potential-or anything close!
- I knew I was going to “die” if something big didn’t change and soon! (My spirit was leaving my body!)
- I knew my dreams were “meant” to come true-I JUST KNEW I COULD make them happen-but I didn’t know how to do it or where the help and support I knew I needed could come from!
I felt numb inside-safe in my routine, I had a job and was debt free and yes I was surviving the recession- but I was empty and unfulfilled, lonely and unsupported without my Soul mate ( I knew in my heart I was destined to meet him!) and a handful of close friends -none of whom really understood what I was going through or my sense of isolation- a spiritual crisis by any other name!That last week in December I knew wanted to change my life and really connect with what I felt sure in my heart I was here to do. But how to do it? I had tried so many things and explored so many paths, had some success for sure and enough to keep me on the look out for the next step. However I felt that something big was needed to really shake my life up as it felt stuck! I had lost my Dad and my Grandfather in May/June 2008 so it had been a very emotional time for me. I knew there was much more to my life and my Soul’s purpose than what seemed to be my fate at that moment!
That week I had my Eureka moment (just as Saturn -the planet that helps us create new foundations transitted over my Soul’s purpose ruler Uranus in the 12th house of my astrology chart!)
.. …And so to cut a very long story short one decision made around the1st January 2009 to Cast my Sacred contract began the activation of my own life purpose in form.
Of that I am now absolutely certain! I ended up going to Chicago to study Sacred Contracts (with the pioneering genius in human consciousness that is Caroline Myss), spent an amazing 3 days in Belfast in May with marketing guru Bernadette Doyle that blew my mindset wide open and this all led me to setting up my present business and propelled my life to new heights that I could never have fully imagined without doing so! I left my old career well behind, sold my house freeing me from that particularly horrible treadmill and reached for my greater destiny! Then by attracting new mentors in the shape of Visionary Jean Houston,Dan and Lucie Bradbury, Christina Morassi and Bernadette Doyle I am now poised to make an even more significant impact on everyone I work with as we all move towards December 2012 and beyond. Full Moon on Monday
It’s the full Moon in the watery sign of Cancer today. Full Moons are times of reflection and of becoming aware of choices and seeds we planted at the previous new Moon (which occurred on the 24th December in the status orientated sign of Capricorn.) Astrology is a cyclical dance of the planets which connect us to the Universe-inside and out by reflecting who we are and why we’re here (an accurate birthchart is the blueprint of YOU- based on your date,time and place of birth can clearly show your life purpose and personality traits and explains this in great detail!)
The lunar cycle lasts 27.25 days and we have a new Moon 14 days before the full Moon. At the full Moon the Sun and Moon are in opposition at the same degree of opposing signs so this one is at 18 degrees of Cancer and interestingly lands slap bang on Alex Salmond’s* Ascendant/descendant axis (which is all about his Soul’s purpose and relationships!
The debate around Scotland’s future has suddenly heated up and with Pluto in Capricorn (destiny planet) about to conjunct Mr Salmond’s Sun (identity and status) over the next few months you can see why he may well be in the news a lot and the constitutional question is being thrown up for discussion.
Here are a few pointers to reflect on for this full Moon for you!
- What do you want to manifest related to home,family,nurturing yourself in a way that truly honours your deepest desires and Soul needs.
- Cancer is all about feeling emotionally nourished and cared for so that everything else in your life flows and works in a very natural way. What health and healthy eating patterns can you bring about related to new insights?
- It’s making a nice aspect to action planet Mars in Virgo -so is it time to cut away the “dead wood” in some area of home/family life or clear out what isn’t helping you by taking action!
